How to Remove a Facebook Group?

With more than 51 million Facebook users, the sensational Social Site has become more and more popular since past 5 years. Facebook developers are always improvising the user interface with new sections and gadgets to Facebook site. One of the most popular section is Facebook Groups.

With increasing number of users and thus Facebook Groups, one question that is most people are asking these days is How to Delete a Facebook Group?

Well the answer is simple. But you need to cross some boxes in your check list.
  • You should be the admin of the Group.
  • There should be no other admin(s).
  • There should be no member in the group except you.

Well these requirements are necessary. Facebook doesn't take any action lightly. Even if you remove yourself as admin and then from group. It will ask other admins to take ownership of you Group. Also even there are no admin(s) in your Group, it will ask other active members to become admin.

Fine with the theory, Let's start with the action part. Follow following steps to remove members:

  1. Go to your Group. Navigate to the About tab.
  2. You'll see a drop down arrow with a Search Bar next to it. Click the arrow and select All Members.
  3. All members of the Group will be displayed. You'll see their privileges like Member or Admin.
  4. You'll also find a X symbol next to every member's name and Remove Admin with every Admin name.
  5. First remove all Admins by clicking on Remove Admin. [Don't remove yourself as Admin]
  6. Now you'll be left as the only Admin of the Group.
  7. Remove all members from the Group by clicking X symbol next to their names.
  8. Finally remove yourself from the Group.

So it is done. Your Group is no longer available on Facebook. But I will suggest that never ever join a Group which is of no use to you. Also for your Group always make members join after Admin's approval. This can be done by going to gear symbol Settings of your group.
